Director of Nutrition, Quality Assurance
With a master's degree in public health from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition from San Diego State University, Lauren brings knowledge and expertise in her role as Director of Nutrition, Quality Assurance.
Lauren reviews nutrition analyses for thousands of menu items from the diverse roster of Healthy Dining’s participating restaurants and also oversees allergen and gluten identification projects. Additionally, she plays a key role in the validation and verification process for the Kids LiveWell Program, working with Healthy Dining’s culinary dietitians to continually add a wide variety of children’s menu choices that meet nutritional criteria.
“The quality assurance process is an important aspect of Healthy Dining because we want all consumers –whether they have individualized health goals or specialized needs—to be able to confidently put their trust in the nutrition and allergen information provided by restaurants,” says Lauren.
Prior to joining Healthy Dining, Lauren worked in clinical dietetics and held college-level teaching positions at San Diego State University and various community colleges, where she taught courses in food science and sports nutrition. In addition, Lauren is also a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the California Dietetic Association.
