As the dynamic leader of a mission that integrates the brainpower, artistry and passion of chefs, restaurateurs, registered dietitians, master’s level public health influencers, PhD researchers, communication strategists, digital experts and a board of directors, Anita is actively creating a healthier America – in a delicious way, every day. For more than 20 years, Anita has led Healthy Dining from a California focus to a nationwide enterprise, now the largest-ever restaurant industry nutrition initiative.

Erica has been passionately introducing consumers, restaurants, health professionals, employers, and others to the benefits of Healthy Dining since 1993. With her leadership and keen ability to forge strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, she is a valuable asset to the company’s continuous growth and mission to create a healthier America by helping restaurant guests find the healthiest menu choices. She also regularly contributes as a spokesperson for the company, helping to spread the word about and its unique status as a one-of-its-kind, online nutrition resource.

Director of Nutrition

Nicole is a registered dietitian with over ten years’ experience working with hundreds of restaurants to create and offer healthier choices. As director of nutrition, Nicole oversees all aspects of the company’s nutrient services portfolio, including nutrient analysis, gluten and allergen identification, accuracy verification and analysis audits.  Nicole also helps with the development of Healthy Dining’s nutrition-related marketing tools and resources and works with participating restaurants to offer a range of unique, creative opportunities to benefit from their participation in Healthy Dining.

Director of Operations

As Healthy Dining’s director of operations, Andrew works with all departments within Healthy Dining, assuring systems integrity and the uninterrupted performance of and all related properties. Andrew focuses on quality control to ensure that each piece of Healthy Dining, from nutrition analysis applications, to office systems, marketing agendas, technology development, research studies, data integrity and client management, is optimized and running smoothly so that Healthy Dining can consistently provide the highest value to its visitors, clients and partners.

Esther Hill, Ph.D.

Director of Research

One of the founders of Healthy Dining, Esther is the principal investigator on Healthy Dining’s public health research studies, including projects with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Health Services, focusing on nutrition and health within the restaurant and foodservice industry. Esther earned a master’s of science degree in bioradiology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in biomathematics from Loma Linda University, and has worked in medical research at the University of California at San Diego.

Director of Restaurant Partnerships

Dave amplifies Healthy Dining’s success by partnering with restaurants across the country to help them with “all things nutrition.” From showcasing restaurants’ healthier choices to millions of nutrition conscious guests on to connecting  restaurants with Healthy Dining’s expert team of registered dietitians for a wide variety of nutrition services, Dave brings the energy and passion to build win-win partnerships. He identifies new opportunities for restaurants to grow and leverage themselves as leaders in the industry and within their communities.

Quality Assurance Manager

With a master's degree in public health from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition from San Diego State University, Lauren brings knowledge and expertise in her role as quality assurance manager. Lauren reviews nutrition analyses for thousands of menu items from the diverse roster of Healthy Dining’s participating restaurants and also oversees allergen and gluten identification projects. Additionally, she plays a key role in the validation process for the Kids LiveWell Program, working to continually add new children’s menu choices that meet nutritional criteria.

Ilana Lemberger, R.D.

Nutrition Project Manager | Culinary Dietitian

Ilana works closely with restaurants across the country to help them meet the growing demand for nutrition information and healthier choices. In her role as culinary dietitian, Ilana provides nutrition analysis of restaurant menu items while offering guidance to help restaurants reduce the amount of fat, calories and sodium in their food. Ilana earned her bachelor’s degree in foods and nutrition from San Diego State University and completed her dietetic internship through Sodexho’s Distance Dietetic Internship Program, and has served as clinical dietitian in the diet office of a local hospital.

Culinary Dietitian

Diana has over 30 years of experience in food service consulting, computerized food management software development, institutional menu planning, recipe nutritional analysis, extensive food service preparation, and conducting instructional healthy cooking and nutrition classes. Providing nutritional consultation with an emphasis on diabetes education has been a driving passion of Diana’s, and she continues to be an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ practice groups for Diabetes Care and Education, Weight Management, and Nutrition Education for the Public.

Manager of Research

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Anjali brings extensive education and experience to Healthy Dining: a bachelor’s degree in life sciences research from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario; a second bachelor’s degree in nutrition and food from Ryerson University in Toronto; and finally, a master of public health degree in community nutrition from the University of Toronto. As manager of research, Anjali oversees grant management; project planning; implementation and evaluation; IRB proposals; and grant writing, with a passion for making a positive impact on Americans’ health.

Culinary Dietitian

Rachael has worked in several facets of the restaurant industry, from research and development for Jack in the Box to menu planning for Meals on Wheels. She received her bachelor’s degree in nutritional science from San Diego State University and completed her dietetic internship to become a registered dietitian through the University of California San Diego Medical Center. As a culinary dietitian, Rachael has worked with hundreds of fast food and fine dining restaurants from around the country to provide nutrient analysis and menu consultation for both Healthy Dining and Kids LiveWell menu items.

Culinary Dietitian

Kathleen began her professional career after graduating from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. Witnessing the rise of obesity, she realized an education in exercise and fitness was only part of the solution, so Kathleen went on to complete an additional bachelor’s degree in dietetics. Empowered with knowledge in both fields, she has a stronger foundation for educating others about the connection between health, fitness, and food. As a culinary dietitian, Kathleen is focused on collaborating with restaurants to identify and establish menu items that meet Healthy Dining’s nutrition criteria.

Equipped with a master’s degree in public health from Loma Linda University, a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition from San Diego State University, and extensive experience working with Feeding America and WIC (Women, Infants and Children), Amber has committed herself to helping others live healthier and happier lives. She works closely with restaurants to spread awareness about their healthier options, enabling them to demonstrate their dedication to the health of their community through the food they serve, and helping restaurant guests find the healthiest menu choices.

Research and Communications Coordinator

Nancy graduated from San Diego State University, where she received her master’s degree in nutrition and completed the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). She is currently pursuing a dietetic internship through Utah State University’s distance program to become a registered dietitian. Nancy serves as project coordinator on an NIH-funded grant awarded to Healthy Dining, conducting research in the areas of restaurant menu and recipe modification, healthier children’s menus, and employee wellness programs. She is also a frequent contributor to the company’s online nutrition blogs.

Web Manager | Culinary Dietitian

Being the web manager for Healthy Dining is a great way to blend Amanda’s technical skills with her passion for eating healthy and knowledge of dietetics. From formatting pictures and publishing restaurant data to writing blogs and managing newsletters, Amanda is an integral part of the web/marketing team and is responsible for overseeing the Healthy Dining Finder website. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietetic Practice Group, and serves on the executive board of the San Diego Dietetic Association.

She daily shares how Healthy Dining’s passionate leadership and important resources for consumers and the restaurant industry contribute to a healthier America. With almost three decades of creative strategy, promotion, design, media and “in the trenches” business expertise, Deborah brings tremendous talent to Healthy Dining. Her leadership helped to propel NBC San Diego, an NBC-owned television station, to long-term ratings success.

She manages both internal and external communications for Healthy Dining, handling a variety of projects that include writing, branding, social media, administration and the continued outreach to Healthy Dining visitors and fans, making sure everyone receives the nutrition information and insights needed. Sara came to Healthy Dining after the birth of her daughter in 2007, seeking a company with a true and inspiring purpose to which she could contribute in a positive way.

His imaginative proficiency can be seen throughout this beautiful website, newsletters, and collateral items. Dave studied cartoon and graphic art (comic books) at the Joe Kubert School, completing a program in IT technology & multi-media.  He has more than 10 years of experience in creative design for print and web. Dave came to Healthy Dining in search of a company with a health-conscious direction, where he could make a positive imapct on the health and happiness in people's lives.
