The good Old Spaghetti Factory never fails to bring a smile to my face. With its old world charm, deep booth seats, and friendly prices throughout their menu, it’s a win-win for everyone!
This past weekend, Eric (my husband) and I were in downtown San Diego shopping for postcards to send to my family in San Francisco. Of course, it never fails, once we smell food and are the slightest hungry, we’re bound to take a seat somewhere and call it lunch. Thankfully, The Old Spaghetti Factory was across the street.
soon as we walked in, I could smell the browned mizithra cheese lingering in the lobby. That nutty buttery smell, nothing can match it! Once our hostess took us to our seats, I immediately pulled HealthyDiningFinder.com up on my phone. Sure, a downtown lunch was a treat for this student couple, but it didn’t have to blow our healthy lifestyle, either. A quick glance at the Healthy Dining Finder approved menu, and I knew exactly what I was going to order. Eric ordered whole wheat pasta with marinara on one half and meat sauce on the other, and of course, I had to have the spinach and cheese ravioli topped with marinara sauce.
Allow me to just mention how awesome our service was. Nichole, our server, was attentive from the beginning. She explained the menu, and even reminded Eric and me that our meal included our choice of vanilla ice cream or spumoni. Servers and bussers from other sections were ready to pick up plates or refi
ll empty drinks. Extremely impressed with their level of customer service!
Promptly after placing our order, the salads came out. Their creamy pesto dressing is my favorite; think of ranch dressing paired with a basil pesto…… delicious. I can’t avoid the free bread….. it follows me everywhere. For picture purposes, I broke the bread to show the nooks and crannies within the center. Spaghetti Factory bakes their bread on site, which makes it even more enjoyable.
Cheers & Salut!
