This smoothie for kids is a quick and easy way to add some extra nutrition into their diet without the meal-time battle.  With dark leafy greens and plenty of sweet fruit to make it a treat, everyone should be happy with this choice.  Get kids involved in preparing the ingredients too, at least the kids that don't mind seeing all the ingredients going into their smoothie!  Whip this up for a tasty breakfast, afterschool snack or even a healthy dessert.

I love being able to sneak veggies into my kids’ meals without them knowing. I just smile and keep quiet when they eat it up. I know they like vegetables, but sometimes they are not willing to try new ones because they look funny or smell funny or are a funny color. I’ve tried to make kale chips for them before, but they looked at them and discarded them because they didn’t look like chips. That didn’t stop me from having them try kale. Instead I got sneaky about it and added it to a smoothie. Which they, of course, gulped down. 
 
The smoothie was packed with fruits and veggies and was also super easy to make. If you want to make your own sneaky kale smoothie, you will need:
 
A handful of kale leaves
Frozen strawberries
One banana
1 cup almond milk
1 packet sweetener (optional)
 
Toss everything into a blender and mix until smooth. The cool thing is that when you use frozen fruit, you don’t need to add any ice. The fruit makes the smoothie nice and thick without watering it down when it starts to cool down. I also added one packet of Stevia, but the fruit makes it sweet enough that you don’t really need it. 
 
Smoothies for kids are quick and easy to make and can be a great alternative for breakfast. Just blend everything up, pour it into a travel mug, and you can be out the door that much faster. Plus, if you let kids help with adding the fruit or the milk, they are more likely to enjoy the fruit of their labor. It’s a great all-around drink that kids love because it’s tasty, and moms love because they can sneak in vegetables.
 
My kids did not even notice the kale in the smoothie and gulped it down. I sat across the table and tried to hide my smile as they finished their cups. The two kids that turned their noses up to kale chips just downed two smoothies packed with kale! I’ll call that a mom-win any day of the week.
